Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) signed an updated memorandum of understanding on cooperation in financial technology, extending their 2018 arrangement and widening joint work on innovation in financial services, including digital financial assets and the use of artificial intelligence. The MoU provides for exchanges of ideas and supervisory best practices, closer engagement between the two countries’ financial institutions and FinTech industries including through industry bodies, referrals of potential FinTech firms to participate in each jurisdiction’s regulatory sandbox, and facilitation of cross-border information sharing for FinTech firms operating within the applicable rules and licensing scope.
