The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority has published an updated factsheet on institutions for occupational retirement provision (IORPs) in the European Economic Area, drawing on 2024 data to show how IORPs allocate the approximately EUR 2.7 trillion they manage across asset types and jurisdictions. The data visualisation focuses on government bonds, corporate bonds, equities and investment funds, which together account for 92% of IORPs’ investment portfolios. It also includes charts on the evolution of pension fund membership, contributions and benefits in recent years, and applies a “look-through” approach to allocate underlying fund holdings to government bonds, corporate bonds and equities where detailed fund-level information is available.
