Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has suspended the approval of Ms. Luxsamee Deetrakulwattanapol, a capital market auditor affiliated with Grant Thornton Co., Ltd., for non-compliance with auditing standards in her audits of Green Tech Ventures Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries (year ended 31 December 2024) and Bitkub Online Co., Ltd. (year ended 31 December 2022). Any new application for capital market auditor approval will be considered only after one year from 10 December 2025. The review of working papers for Green Tech Ventures found significant deficiencies covering goodwill impairment, auditing of share of loss from investments in associates and joint ventures that had not yet been audited by their auditors, assessment of risks of material misstatement due to fraud, auditing lease liabilities due within one year and related interest expense, and auditing long-term loans to other entities due within one year and related interest income. For Bitkub Online, the SEC identified significant deficiencies in the audit of share-based payment transactions, which it said had a material impact on the 2022 financial statements. While the SEC determined a one-year suspension, it noted Ms. Luxsamee’s current approval remains valid until 5 February 2026 and ordered the suspension of her approval through that date, with reapproval considerations deferred for one year starting 10 December 2025.
