The Spanish Securities Commission (CNMV) has appointed Juan Rodríguez de la Rúa Puig as director general of its Legal Service and secretary of the Council, with effect from 1 September. He replaces Patricia Muñoz González-Úbeda, who has held the post since May 2021. Rodríguez de la Rúa has served at the CNMV since 2022 as deputy director general of the Legal Service and deputy secretary of the Council. Before joining the supervisor, he worked as a State Attorney, including in the State Attorney General’s office unit for European Union and international affairs, where he advised the State and public institutions on EU law and represented Spain before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the EFTA Court.

The Spanish Securities Commission (CNMV) appointed Juan Rodríguez de la Rúa Puig as director general of its Legal Service and secretary of the Council, effective 1 September, succeeding Patricia Muñoz González-Úbeda. Rodríguez de la Rúa has been with the CNMV since 2022, previously serving as deputy director general of the Legal Service and deputy secretary of the Council. Before joining the CNMV, he was a State Attorney advising on EU law and representing Spain in European courts.
