Ukraine’s National Commission on Securities and Stock Market has submitted applications to accede to the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) and Extended MMoU, marking a step toward deeper international supervisory cooperation. The Commission has been an IOSCO member since 1996 but has not previously been a party to either memorandum. It linked the applications to the February 2024 Law of Ukraine on the Transformation of the Commission No. 3585-IX, which it said created the legal basis to meet the obligations under the IOSCO memorandums. Accession is intended to enable more effective information sharing with foreign regulators, strengthen market surveillance, and enhance investor protection.
