The Central Bank of the Philippines reported on Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr.’s participation in the 61st South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Governors’ Conference in Bali, where he highlighted digital payments connectivity as a key enabler of cross-border economic integration. In a panel session he chaired, participants jointly called for greater interoperability and standardization of payment systems to support seamless regional transactions. Held under the theme “Asian Financial Integration to Navigate Geoeconomic Shifts: Unlocking Growth and Innovation,” the session focused on “Empowering Economic Integration through Digital Payment Connectivity” and discussed implementation challenges and outlooks for digital payment integration. Separately, Governor Remolona joined the 45th SEACEN Board of Governors’ Meeting, where members deliberated and approved SEACEN’s 2026 work plan and budget and discussed progress on the strategic business plan for 2026–2030.
