The Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT), together with Chile’s Financial Analysis Unit (UAF), held a training course in Santiago on the Financial Action Task Force’s 40 Recommendations to strengthen national capabilities on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing. The programme ran from 13 to 17 October and brought together 44 representatives from 21 Chilean institutions involved in implementing the international standard, including the Central Bank of Chile, the Financial Market Commission, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the judiciary, police and gendarmerie bodies, ministries, and tax, customs, gaming and pensions authorities. The course was delivered by Spanish experts alongside the GAFILAT Executive Secretariat and the UAF, which acted as Chile’s national coordination point to GAFILAT for the event.
