Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority hosted an awards ceremony at its Smart Village headquarters for the “Ramadana Awareness” competition, a social media initiative run during Ramadan by the Egyptian Federation for Financing Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises. The event positioned the competition as part of efforts to raise financial literacy and awareness of non-banking financial services. Vice Chairman Islam Azzam highlighted the role of financial awareness in enabling citizens to make informed decisions and engage with non-banking financial tools and services. Assistant Chairman Mohamed Abdel Aziz, who leads the Authority’s financial awareness and literacy work, noted continued support for initiatives that expand knowledge of non-banking financial activities across different groups, alongside calls for ongoing cooperation to advance financial inclusion from the Federation’s chair and representatives of Tamweely and Tasaheel. The Authority presented a plaque to the Federation in recognition of its awareness efforts and distributed prizes to 20 competition winners, with Abdel Aziz indicating further work to develop similar initiatives.
