The Republic of Serbia Securities Commission published an update on a new Rulebook on the Methodology for Performing Activities in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, which entered into force on 9 May 2025. The rulebook focuses on how reporting entities should determine when a client, business relationship, service within their scope of activity, or transaction must be treated as high risk for money laundering, terrorism financing, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. High-risk classification is to be carried out in line with recognised international standards and the results of Serbia’s National Risk Assessment for money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation financing. The rulebook was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No. 42/2025 of 16 May 2025.
