The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation announced the conclusion of the independent monitorship established to assess and audit its implementation of workplace culture reforms following the Cleary Gottlieb review. The agency has put key remediation measures in place and fully implemented all recommendations from the Office of Inspector General’s 2024 workplace culture audits, which the inspector general has formally closed. Reforms include stronger investigation of misconduct allegations and accountability for employees who commit misconduct. The FDIC has also completed a broad leadership transition, including full turnover of its Board of Directors and changes across senior management, divisions, offices and regional offices. With the monitorship ending, responsibility for sustaining the reforms now rests with the FDIC.
