The Portuguese Securities Market Commission published its 2025 securities markets report, finding broad growth across Portugal’s equity, public debt, derivatives and asset management markets. The domestic equity market delivered a total return of 35.5%, including dividends, while PSI market capitalization rose 20.6% to EUR 82.431 billion. Trading on Euronext Lisbon increased 13.7% to EUR 42.925 billion, with equities accounting for 99.6% of traded value. Volumes on the MTS Portugal public debt platform rose 439.7%, while MIBEL derivatives trading increased 109.9%. Assets under management grew 12% to EUR 97.8 billion, driven mainly by 24.2% growth in national undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities and a 17% increase in real estate investment undertakings. By contrast, total cash and forward market order flow fell 10.3%, and proprietary trading declined 17.7%.
