Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) announced a meeting with the Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS) to review the current status of the Dominican pension system and deepen the technical support CISS provides to SIPEN through its membership. The cooperation focuses on capacity-building, technical assistance and the exchange of governance best practices in social security. CISS highlighted actuarial support on pensions and longevity insurance, while SIPEN referenced five collaborative projects to date, including support for developing a longevity insurance mechanism within the Dominican Social Security System and an actuarial training programme for SIPEN’s technical team and invited institutions such as the Superintendence of Health and Occupational Risks, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.
