The Central Bank of Egypt reported a sharp increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during January to August 2025, rising 47.2% year on year to a record USD 26.6 billion. Monthly data showed remittances in August 2025 rose 32.6% to USD 3.5 billion, compared with USD 2.6 billion in August 2024.

The Central Bank of Egypt announced a 47.2% year-on-year increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad, reaching a record USD 26.6 billion from January to August 2025. August 2025 alone saw a 32.6% rise to USD 3.5 billion compared to the same month in 2024.
