The Bank of Korea published preliminary price statistics for March 2026, reporting that the all-items Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 1.6% month on month and 4.1% year on year. It also released the Domestic Supply Price Index and the Total Output Price Index for the same month. By major PPI sub-index, agricultural, forestry and marine products fell 3.3% month on month, while manufacturing products increased 3.5%; electric power, gas, water and waste declined 0.1% and services were unchanged. The Domestic Supply Price Index rose 2.3% month on month (3.7% year on year), driven by raw materials (+5.1%) and intermediate goods and services (+2.8%), while the Total Output Price Index increased 4.7% month on month (9.0% year on year), with manufacturing products up 7.9%. The Bank of Korea noted that the indices are preliminary and may be revised in the next monthly release; the next PPI release (April 2026 preliminary) is scheduled for May 21.
