The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission has sanctioned Miss Wannapat Sivakaratri after finding that, while employed by Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited, she misappropriated client assets and engaged in dishonest conduct. The SEC revoked her approval as an investment consultant for Complex Products Type 2 for 10 years and, because that approval had already expired on 31 December 2025, imposed a 10 year ban on accepting any future applications for approval as capital market business personnel, effective from 28 April 2026. Following a report from Krung Thai Bank and the SEC’s investigation, the misconduct was found to have occurred during 2024 to 2025 and to have caused losses of THB 2,106,167.05 to two clients. The conduct included selling one client’s investment units without instruction and withdrawing the sale proceeds for personal use, making unsupported transfers to create the false impression that a fund balance remained intact before cancelling those transactions, and withdrawing cash from a second client’s account to repurchase units for the first client and transfer the remainder to her own bank account. The SEC also found that she signed clients’ names and the authorized checker’s name on fund trading order forms without their signatures and used the checker’s password without authorization to approve transactions, cancel fund purchases and withdraw money from clients’ bank accounts. She partially compensated the affected clients and the bank reimbursed the remaining amount in full.
