The Bank of Albania reported that Governor Gent Sejko and Randi Davis, the United Nations Development Programme’s permanent representative in Albania, discussed opportunities for deeper cooperation on green finance, financial and digital education, payment systems and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. The meeting did not produce a specific new initiative, but both sides expressed readiness to develop joint work in these areas. Sejko reviewed the central bank’s efforts to integrate environmental and climate factors into the financial sector, strengthen cybersecurity and payment systems, and promote the safe use of financial services. Davis identified potential cooperation on climate awareness and capacity building for financial sector participants, as well as improving small and medium-sized enterprises’ financial literacy, access to finance and institutional capacity. The discussions also covered support for reforms and policy alignment linked to Albania’s European Union integration.
