The Securities Commission Malaysia launched a 40 Hadiths book series on sustainability and ethical sales transactions and announced the establishment of the Maqasid al-Shariah Task Force for the Islamic capital market, aimed at strengthening industry understanding and practical adoption of the Maqasid al-Shariah Guidance in Malaysia’s Islamic capital market. Unveiled during the 3rd SC Nadwah of Shariah Advisers in the Islamic capital market, the publications focus on embedding Maqasid al-Shariah principles across areas including environmental stewardship, responsible business and trade practices. The Maqasid al-Shariah Task Force for the Islamic capital market will drive and streamline adoption of the Guidance and identify areas for strategic collaboration and innovation between regulators and industry, with members including Bursa Malaysia Berhad, the Malaysian Association of Asset Managers, the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia, the Malaysian Investment Banking Association, the Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia, the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia and the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators. The Task Force will promote strategic collaboration and innovation among regulators and industry, with members including Bursa Malaysia Berhad and various financial associations.
