The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) announced plans to strengthen its relationship with the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), with Governor Mihály Varga linking closer cooperation to lower inflation and the maintenance of fair market competition. The MNB highlighted joint research and analytical work as a tool to increase transparency, measure market competition and help detect the effects of distorted competition. The cooperation is also intended to support both institutions’ work in licensing, inspections, market supervision and consumer protection.
