The South African Reserve Bank has published an updated spreadsheet listing descriptions of all available Quarterly Bulletin time series. The file sets out the metadata for each series, including the time series code, description, version description, frequency and unit of measure. In the excerpted “KBP” sheet, the catalogue covers a wide range of monetary and balance sheet series, including South African Reserve Bank liabilities (such as notes and coin in circulation, deposits, foreign loans, capital and reserves) and assets (such as gold reserves, advances and investments), as well as cash reserve utilisation and liquidity operations (including resale agreements and the South African Multiple Option Settlement facility). It also includes Corporation for Public Deposits (CPD) assets and liabilities, government sector deposits with the CPD, and banking institutions’ deposit liabilities by type, with series provided at “J” and “M” frequencies and units shown as “RMILL”.
