The Bank of Italy hosted a high-level “Cyber Resilience, Regulation, and System-wide Cooperation” conference at its Milan branch, bringing together leaders from across the financial sector to discuss emerging cybersecurity challenges, the evolution of the European regulatory framework, and shared priorities for strengthening systemic cooperation. Organised by the Bank of Italy and the Italian Banking Association (ABI) as part of CERTFin initiatives, the event focused on the increasing complexity of the cyber threat landscape and the need for coordinated, proactive responses. Discussions also covered aligning risk management and digital resilience frameworks with implementation of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), and adopting a structured approach to third-party risk management that accounts for interdependencies and the concentration of ICT service providers. Participants reaffirmed information sharing, operational collaboration, and continuous skills development as key foundations for long-term financial system security.
