The Central Bank of the Republic of China reported that financial institutions’ actual liquid reserve ratio increased by 0.33 percentage points from the previous month to 23.52% in August 2026. Actual liquid reserve assets rose by TWD 311.7 billion to TWD 13,146.5 billion, compared with required reserves of TWD 5,588.9 billion under the 10% statutory minimum ratio. Central bank certificates of deposit were the largest reserve asset category at TWD 5,679.3 billion, or 43.20% of the total, after increasing by TWD 417.6 billion. Government bond holdings edged up to TWD 2,369.4 billion, while financial institutions’ redeposits at designated banks fell by TWD 66.7 billion to TWD 973.7 billion.
