The Central Bank of Chile published preliminary regional national accounts estimates showing that Chile’s GDP grew in 14 of 16 regions in 2024, lifting national GDP growth to 2.6%. Household consumption increased in 15 regions, for 1.0% growth at the national level. All macrozones contributed to annual GDP growth, with the North, the Metropolitan Region and the Center South providing the largest contributions, and the Center South leading in the fourth quarter due to agriculture and forestry. Nationally, mining, trade, personal services and transport were the main positive drivers, while financial and business services were the main negative contributions; among regions, Antofagasta grew 7.3% and Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins 5.8%, while Arica and Parinacota (-0.9%) and Aysén (-0.2%) contracted. The release also presents revised regional GDP and household consumption series, incorporating updated national aggregates for 2022–2024 from the annual national accounts, new quarterly figures published on 18 March, and updated indicators and administrative records (including education enrolments, engineering works, property cadastre, fisheries and forestry yearbooks, monthly tax information, and records from the unemployment insurance fund administrator and the Comptroller General), affecting all periods that use these sources.
