The Central Bank of Peru published updated credit statistics showing mortgage lending grew 7.1% year on year in February 2026, reaching an outstanding balance of PEN 75,447 million, with the increase mainly driven by domestic-currency lending. Sole-denominated mortgages expanded 8.0% year on year to PEN 71,290 million. Month on month, total mortgage credit rose 0.5% in February versus January, supported by a 0.6% increase in lending in soles. Dollarisation remained limited, with US dollar loans accounting for 5.5% of mortgage credit in February 2026.
