Peru's Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS) has ordered the dissolution of the Level 1 savings and credit cooperative Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito APROCREDI LIMITADA (Coopac Aprocredi) and notified member-depositors that their deposits are protected by the Cooperative Deposit Insurance Fund (Fondo de Seguro de Depósitos Cooperativo, FSDC). Deposit insurance coverage is capped at PEN 5,000 per depositor, in line with Law No. 30822 and SBS Resolution No. 5061-2008 (as amended). The dissolution was set out in SBS Resolution No. 2842-2025, and the SBS indicated that in the next days it will announce the date and the financial system institution through which depositors can collect the insured amount, with details to be published on the FSDC and SBS websites and at Coopac Aprocredi’s legal domicile.
