The Malaysia Securities Commission published a reminder that the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum’s public consultation on the ASEAN Simplified ESG Disclosure Guide for SMEs in Supply Chains (Version 1) will close on 12 September 2025. Feedback is invited from interested parties including financial institutions, corporate reporters and investors, to be submitted via the ASEDG public consultation form. The guide is intended to help small and medium enterprises across ASEAN operating in global and local supply chains report ESG information to stakeholders such as customers, financiers and investors. It streamlines global ESG frameworks and each of the ten ASEAN member states’ local guidelines into 38 priority disclosures, organised into Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels to reflect differing sustainability maturity; the disclosures are designed to apply across industries with varying priority, with SMEs encouraged to assess relevance and significance. After the consultation closes, feedback will be consolidated and analysed to refine the guide, with ASEDG Version 2 expected to be launched at the ACMF International Conference in November 2025.
