The Croatian National Bank published a notice that the Croatian Parliament has appointed Ante Žigman as governor of the central bank from 19 June 2026 for a term of six years. The appointment followed his nomination by Parliament’s Elections, Appointments and Administration Committee and prior support from its Finance and Central Budget Committee. Žigman currently serves as president of the board of the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency, a role he has held since 2018 and to which he was reappointed in February 2024 for a second six-year term. His background includes earlier service at the Croatian National Bank, senior roles at the Ministry of Finance and in commercial banking, and European supervisory positions at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority and the European Securities and Markets Authority.

The Croatian National Bank said the Croatian Parliament has appointed Ante Žigman as governor from 19 June 2026 for a six-year term. Žigman currently leads Croatia’s non-bank financial supervisor and previously held roles at the central bank, the Ministry of Finance and European supervisory bodies.
