The Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa has launched a call for expressions of interest from individual consultants to deliver national workshops on asset recovery and the management of seized and confiscated assets for national competent authorities. The assignment sits under an African Development Bank-financed capacity development project on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism in West African transition states. The workshops are intended to provide practical, country-tailored training and technical guidance on stolen asset recovery, tracing illicit financial flows, freezing assets and managing recovered funds. GIABA expects the consultants to develop training materials and case studies, strengthen the skills of investigators, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders, and support cross-border cooperation among West African countries, including engagement with international partners where assets are held in foreign jurisdictions. The notice seeks English- and French-speaking consultants with experience in asset recovery, anti-corruption or financial crime investigations, as well as familiarity with frameworks including the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Financial Action Task Force standards and the ECOWAS system. Expressions of interest are due by 05 November 2025. Selection will follow the African Development Bank procurement framework and use the Individual Consultant method.
