The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission announced it will begin its 2026 sector-wide strategic collaboration programme with face-to-face Meet the Regulator (MTR) forums and roundtable meetings in the British Virgin Islands, Panama, London and Hong Kong starting mid-February 2026. The events are intended to set out the Commission’s 2026 regulatory and supervisory priorities and provide a channel for service providers and other stakeholders to give feedback. The agenda includes updates on integrating the economic substance database into the VIRRGIN platform, Beneficial Ownership registration, and progress in addressing financial services-related recommendations from the 2024 Mutual Evaluation Report. The delegation will be led by Managing Director and CEO Kenneth Baker and will include other senior Commission officials and the Director of the International Tax Authority, LaToya James. Registration portals for the BVI, Panama and Hong Kong MTRs, and for the BVI Financial Services roundtable in London, are expected to go live in the first week of February.
