Poland's Ministry of Finance has issued a public warning about fraudulent websites, advertisements and messages that impersonate public administration services, including the gov.pl portal, and use the names and images of state institutions, banks and public figures to solicit money and personal data. The ministry said scammers present these offers as if they were supported, recommended or guaranteed by the state, but stressed that such claims are false and that it does not run investment programs guaranteeing profits or encourage citizens to invest through private online platforms. The warning highlights common fraud tactics including promises of high and rapid returns, little or no risk, guaranteed safety of funds and limited-time offers allegedly backed by the government or financial institutions. To make the schemes appear credible, fraudsters may use cloned government-style websites, fabricated news articles, fake user comments and success stories, falsified bank account screenshots, deepfake videos and unauthorized images of public figures. The ministry urged people not to provide personal data, transfer funds or install software recommended by unknown parties, and to verify website addresses and rely only on official communication channels. Suspicious websites, advertisements or messages should be reported to CERT Polska through incydent.cert.pl. People who have already shared data or transferred funds should contact their bank immediately, change passwords, keep messages and payment confirmations as evidence, and notify the police and relevant incident response teams.
