Olear will depart the agency on May 2 after more than 17 years of service, having most recently served as Acting Director of the Division of Market Oversight and previously as Director of the Market Participants Division. In her Acting Director role, Olear led a team overseeing derivatives platforms and swap data repositories. Her prior CFTC positions included Director of the Market Participants Division from 2021, Associate Director of the Managed Funds Section in the Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight from 2013, and Deputy Director of Registration and Compliance from 2017 to 2021, after joining the agency in 2007 as an attorney-advisor focused on commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors.
