The Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions of Puerto Rico (OCFI) has issued a public notice of its intention to adopt a regulation establishing a clear, uniform process for submitting, reviewing and issuing administrative determinations within OCFI’s jurisdiction, and creating a mechanism to set related processing fees. The proposed regulation would apply to administrative determinations tied to any law or regulation overseen by the OCFI. Fee levels for processing requests would be set separately through an OCFI circular letter, rather than being fixed directly in the regulation. Stakeholders have 30 days from publication of the notice to submit written comments or request an oral hearing, with requests required to state the grounds for holding a hearing.
