The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announced that the online platform for the Cyprus Beneficial Ownership Register of Express Trusts and Similar Legal Arrangements (CyTBOR) has been updated, with the changes taking effect from 18 March 2025. The updates are linked to the 2025 amending directive under the framework for the prevention and suppression of money laundering and terrorist financing relating to the register of beneficial owners of express trusts and similar legal arrangements. CySEC has published the amending directive alongside revised user manuals, updated Q&As, and video and presentation materials describing the CyTBOR system’s new functionalities.
