The UK Financial Conduct Authority has secured a bankruptcy order against Arthur Temlett, trading as Abacus Insurance Consultants. The court granted the application on Aug. 27, 2026, and appointed Emma Porter of Aver Chartered Accountants as trustee to assess Temlett’s financial affairs and distribute any recovered funds to creditors. The FCA stopped Temlett from conducting regulated activities, including acting as an insurance broker, in January 2025 because of concerns that he may have sold home and motor insurance without passing customers’ premium payments to insurers. Temlett is also awaiting trial on embezzlement charges following a Police Scotland investigation.
