The National Bank of Moldova reported that Governor Anca Dragu participated as a special guest at a finance conference in Bucharest, where she presented financial stability, reform and regional cooperation as key elements in strengthening Moldova’s economic resilience and its position within the European financial area. The intervention was made in the context of a broader industry discussion on the role of the financial system in supporting growth and stability. In her remarks, Dragu pointed to Moldova’s ongoing financial modernisation through integration into the Single Euro Payments Area, continued development of the MIA Instant Payments system, stronger supervision and alignment with European standards. The event, hosted by the National Bank of Romania as part of the Bucharest Leaders’ Summit, also covered banking sector developments, financial intermediation, risk management, lending, savings, leasing, capital markets and consumer behaviour in financial services. The participation followed Dragu’s earlier speech at the summit’s opening on 4 May 2026, where she also highlighted progress in modernising Moldova’s financial sector, advancing the European integration path and reinforcing macroeconomic stability.
