The Albania Financial Services Authority, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), held a workshop supporting Albania’s European Union accession negotiations under Chapter 9 on Financial Services, with a focus on aligning the sector’s legal and regulatory framework with the EU acquis. Representatives from the Financial Services Authority, the Bank of Albania and the Deposit Insurance Agency participated as members of the Chapter 9 Inter-Institutional Working Group for European Integration. Executive General Director Mimoza Kaçi, acting as Chapter 9 negotiator, highlighted the need for ongoing coordination, stronger inter-institutional cooperation and capacity building, and for assessing how the alignment process affects supervised entities, consumers and investors; participants reaffirmed their commitment to meeting Chapter 9 obligations through a structured, transparent and effective integration process.
