Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance reported that Finance Minister Gilles Roth led a two-day financial mission to the United Arab Emirates aimed at strengthening bilateral financial cooperation and exploring opportunities in fintech, sustainable finance and cross-border investment. The delegation was accompanied by Luxembourg for Finance and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT). The visit included Roth’s participation in the Dubai FinTech Summit and an ecosystem event co-organised by LHoFT and the MENA Fintech Association, as well as bilateral discussions in Dubai with Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on macroeconomic and geopolitical developments and ways to deepen links between the two countries’ financial sectors. In Abu Dhabi, Roth met Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding between ADIA Lab and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology to strengthen cooperation on artificial intelligence research, alongside further high-level meetings with financial institutions and with the leadership of ADGM and DIFC.
