The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has required consumer finance providers and licensed companies, associations and Class A and B civil institutions financing medium, small and microenterprises to connect electronically with credit bureau I-Score and report specified financing events in real time. The measures extend the authority’s use of digital integration across non-bank financial activities to improve creditworthiness assessments, oversight and credit risk management. Covered providers must notify I-Score when financing is approved and disbursed, whenever a customer makes a full or partial payment, when financing ends, and when legal or judicial action is initiated or its status changes. Consumer finance companies must also submit monthly financing data within five days after each month-end. All affected entities must complete the electronic connection within three months after the decisions take effect following publication in the Egyptian Gazette and on the authority’s website.
