Azerbaijan's Ministry of Finance met an Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation led by Leah Gutierrez to discuss expanding cooperation, including ongoing and planned projects supported through ADB financial and technical assistance, and the framework for future engagement under the 2025–2029 Country Partnership Strategy. The ministry noted that ADB cooperation to date has financed 145 projects worth around USD 5.5bn and set out priority areas including economic diversification, green and sustainable development and inclusive growth. Discussions also covered Azerbaijan’s contribution to the Asian Development Fund for 2021–2027, reforms to strengthen macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline and public financial management, and potential cooperation on transport connectivity, water and utility infrastructure modernisation, and green energy, alongside measures to support private sector development through SME finance, capital markets development and public-private partnerships.
