The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) has revoked the individual insurance agent licence of Robert Randall Hawken and the corporate insurance agent licence of Dufferin Insurance Group. FSRA found Hawken, the sole director of Dufferin Insurance Group, and the firm are no longer suitable to be licensed under the Insurance Act due to past conduct, misappropriation of funds, and providing false or misleading information to clients and in eight licence renewal applications. Neither Hawken nor Dufferin Insurance Group requested a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal or contested FSRA’s proposal.
