The Central Bank of the Philippines (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) issued a circular letter to all BSP-supervised financial institutions confirming the cancellation of ETRANSS Remittance International Corp.’s certificate of registration to operate as a remittance and transfer company. The cancellation covers ETRANSS’ authority to operate as a Type “A” remittance agent with virtual currency exchange services, now referred to as a virtual asset service provider. The action was approved by the Monetary Board under Resolution No. 1148 dated 3 October 2024, pursuant to Section 902-N (as amended by BSP Circular No. 1108, series of 2021) in relation to Section 901-N of the Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions.
