The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Kurt Hohl as Chief Accountant, effective 7 July 2025. Acting Chief Accountant Ryan Wolfe will return to his role as Chief Accountant in the Division of Enforcement. Hohl brings nearly 40 years of accounting and auditing experience and most recently founded Corallium Advisors, advising on auditing, regulatory compliance, risk management and initial public offerings. He previously spent 26 years as a partner at Ernst & Young, including as global deputy vice-chair of the Global Assurance Professional Practice, and earlier served at the SEC from 1989 to 1997, rising to Associate Chief Accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance and authoring what became the SEC’s Financial Reporting Manual. Wolfe has served as Acting Chief Accountant since January 2025 while also serving as Chief Accountant of the Division of Enforcement.
