Chile's Ministry of Finance has created a Financial Services Export Working Group to develop wealth and investment management services for nonresident clients seeking access to global markets. Guided by a roadmap of regulatory and tax measures, the group will prioritize reducing or removing barriers that prevent Chilean financial institutions from serving international clients. The initiative brings together the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Market Commission, the Central Bank of Chile and tax, customs and financial intelligence authorities, alongside banking, fintech and investment fund industry representatives. Chile's financial services exports currently exceed USD 3 billion and support about 30,000 to 40,000 jobs, with the ministry estimating that the sector could generate another 50,000 jobs. The working group will begin meeting in the coming days and report periodically to the Public-Private Committee on Services Exports.
