The Polish Financial Supervision Commission (KNF) reported that its Chair, Jacek Jastrzębski, met with Maria Luís Albuquerque, the European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, to discuss the strategy and planned work on the Savings and Investments Union and related capital markets priorities. The meeting was attended by KNF Deputy Chairs Marcin Mikołajczyk and Krystian Wiercioch, as well as representatives of the KNF Office and the European Commission. Topics included market integration, measures aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, autonomy and security of capital markets and further supervisory convergence, as well as the need to strengthen supervision of entities conducting cross-border activities. The discussion also covered building a culture of investing and long-term savings to support capital market development, and proposals under the Omnibus initiative to simplify sustainability reporting while keeping it proportional, pragmatic and aligned with businesses’ operational capabilities.
