The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance participated in an ENS-hosted event in Rio de Janeiro, also streamed on YouTube, to discuss regulatory developments following Complementary Law No. 213/2025 and the public consultation on a draft National Council of Private Insurance resolution. The draft would establish general rules applicable to mutualistic property protection operations. SUSEP’s Director of Prudential Regulation and Economic Studies, Airton de Almeida Filho, framed the draft as the first step in implementing Complementary Law No. 213/2025 and said the text was built on market parameters, governance and legal certainty considerations, and input heard from associations and members, while remaining open to changes based on feedback. SUSEP’s Coordinator-General for Prudential, Corporate and Governance Regulation, César da Rocha Neves, highlighted that the consultation period was extended to 45 days due to the importance and novelty of the topic and said the authority has been listening to institutions and federations and will analyse all submissions. The consultation remains open for suggestions until 1 October 2025 via SUSEP’s website.
