The Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its vice president, Sonia Salvatierra, took part in the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Committee 4 meeting in Athens, where members exchanged experiences aimed at strengthening investor protection and reinforcing market supervision. Discussions also reviewed practical case studies and the role played by international cooperation. A Committee 4 monitoring working group assessed the status of reports from jurisdictions applying to IOSCO’s Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) and Enhanced MMoU (EMMoU), among other topics linked to fair and efficient markets and investor protection. Salvatierra pointed to CNV’s work to modernize Argentina’s capital markets regulatory framework with a focus on investor protection and financial education, while CNV noted that MMoU adherence and compliance are prerequisites for ordinary IOSCO membership and eligibility to sit on the IOSCO Board.
