Chile's Ministry of Finance held the first 2025 technical counterparts meeting of the Advisory Commission for Financial Inclusion (CAPIF) to coordinate work across member institutions and review progress on implementing the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (ENIF) and updating the National Financial Education Strategy (ENEF). The session set out an operational route for delivering ENIF actions and discussed initial priorities to steer the ENEF update. Around half of the technical team was renewed, and the ENIF implementation roadmap was organised around four outputs: a monitoring plan, an evaluation plan, a communications plan and the creation of public-private working groups to help define and coordinate actions across stakeholders. For ENEF, the commission prioritised strengthening alignment with ENIF, reassessing the relevance of existing guidelines, and conducting a national mapping of financial education initiatives to better organise and coordinate ongoing efforts, while also incorporating emerging topics such as digitalisation, cybersecurity and consumer protection. As part of ENIF-related measures to improve public understanding and trust in the financial system, Chile's Commission for the Financial Market (CMF) presented a Practical Fintech Guide explaining fintechs, the relevant law and the services it regulates. CMF also reported work to build financial inclusion indicators across access, usage and quality, with initial results expected by end-2025.
