Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defence of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) issued an alert that in September 2025 it received 15 notifications from duly constituted financial institutions registered in the System of Financial Service Providers (SIPRES) reporting the alleged impersonation of their identity. The reports concern the unauthorised use of affected institutions’ corporate or trade names, logos and, in some cases, tax or administrative data, allegedly by individuals or companies using print or digital media to economically harm or deceive people seeking credit or other financial services.
