Finland's Ministry of Finance has outlined Finland's priorities for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development annual meeting in Riga on 5 to 7 June, where Minister of Finance Riikka Purra will serve as vice chair. The ministry said Finland wants the meeting to strengthen the bank's support for Ukraine and reinforce governors' ownership of the bank's previously agreed strategic direction. It noted that the EBRD has supported Ukraine since the start of Russia's war of aggression, including by helping keep the private sector operating. The plenary's three main topics are support for Ukraine, the bank's work in fragile states and good governance. Purra will deliver Finland's annual meeting statement on support for Ukraine and chair the fragile states session. The ministry also said Finland's direct support to Ukraine has so far exceeded EUR 4.1 billion, that Finland is ready to continue supporting Ukraine and its future reconstruction with the EBRD and other partners, and that it will use the meeting to advance national business interests, particularly through the Business Forum. The 2027 EBRD annual meeting will be held in Egypt.
