The Bank of Namibia has officially launched an upgraded series of Namibia dollar banknotes alongside a brand-new, fully redesigned Namibian coinage series, with denominations retaining the same value. The new series is intended to modernise Namibia’s currency in line with international standards while reinforcing national identity. The Bank framed the changes as more than an aesthetic refresh, aiming to strengthen the security, functionality and integrity of notes and coins through new security features designed to stay ahead of counterfeiters and safeguard public trust.
