The South Africa Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) issued a public warning urging caution when dealing with individuals claiming to be associated with Switzerland-based Six Swiss Exchange and South Africa-based financial services provider Wings Financial Services CC (FSP number 14315). The FSCA identified administrators of a Telegram group allegedly soliciting investments while falsely claiming an association with Six Swiss Exchange and using a fraudulent FSCA certificate in the name of Six Swiss Exchange reflecting FSP number 14315. Wings Financial Services CC and Six Swiss Exchange have confirmed they are not associated with the Telegram group administrators. The FSCA noted the administrators are not authorised under any financial sector law to provide financial services and could not be contacted, and it advised the public to avoid accepting financial advice or investment offers from unauthorised persons, particularly via social media or unsolicited approaches, and to verify authorisation status, the category of advice permitted, and that the FSP number matches the provider name on the FSCA database.
